Food science is the study of the physical, biological and chemical makeup of edible items. Professionals in this field apply scientific principles to improve safety, nutrition, wholesomeness and availability of food. The coursework in this program enables students to acquire new knowledge and skills to develop, process, preserve, package and store foods according to industry and government standards.
