Placement Test

​What is the Placement Test?​

Rowan College at Gloucester County requires all newly-admitted students to take the College Placement Test. ​All first-time, full-time students are required to take the placement test after admission but before registering for classes or show proof of exemption. This exam assesses students' current ability levels in reading, writing and mathematics.


What Subjects are on the Placement Test?

Students are tested in the areas of reading, writing, mathematics, pre-algebra and elementary algebra.​


May I be Exempt From Taking the Placement Test?​​

Students who have achieved the required test scores on the SAT® ACT Composite or PARCC may qualify for an exemption from portions of the College Placement Test. ​
