Twenty-six students from Rowan College at Gloucester County's Adult Center for Transition (ACT) toured New Jersey's State Capital building on Friday, April 10, as part of an outside-the-classroom learning experience focused on enhancing knowledge of civic and social sciences. The trip included a visit to the legislative chambers and meeting Governor Chris Christie and Senate President Stephen Sweeney.

Students in the ACT program receive classroom instruction designed to enrich their basic academic, vocational and life skills, as well as staying informed about events in their community and the world around them.

Located on the College campus, the ACT program provides students with disabilities, ages 18 to 24 who are not enrolled in high school, with access to post-secondary education and skill training to assist with their transition to adult life.
