The future looks bright for students as Rowan College at Gloucester County aligns with Gloucester Catholic High School to offer free college-prep services to make the transition to higher education easier and less stressful.

Gloucester Catholic is the first private institution to partner with Rowan College's new Center for College and Career Readiness, a program that helps high school students better prepare for the rigors of higher education. It affords students a single point of service to obtain personalized career counseling, free financial aid and test preparation workshops and discounted college courses.

High school juniors and seniors can save valuable time and money as they seek remediation prior to beginning their collegiate studies. More ambitious students can pursue credit courses while also exploring potential fields of interest.

"Within the last year our college community has taken great strides to enhance the educational opportunities for students who seek higher education," said Dr. Frederick Keating, president of Rowan College at Gloucester County. "By partnering with prestigious universities as well as area high schools, our students now have clear entrance and exit strategies. They can take what I believe is the new pathway to success in achieving their goals."

"This partnership is a natural fit since we are now close neighbors with the development of our athletic fields," said Gloucester Catholic Head of School John Colman. "I cannot help but notice how friendly and helpful the college staff are and I know our students are in good hands."

"I basically grew up at Gloucester County College, now Rowan College, because my mom teaches here," said Annie Pegues, a senior at Gloucester Catholic and NJ STARS recipient. "I know what the classes are like and what caliber students study here. I am excited and happy with my choice of college."

On Friday, May 9, college officials broke ground for a two-story addition to the Student Services building, which will include six classrooms adorned with smart technology and provide space for the Center for College and Career Readiness. Presently 15 high schools are affiliated with the college and use its services.
