RCGC To Offer New Online Business Administration Degree

College Relations, Communications, and Marketing
Deptford Twp.
Date: 3/10/2015

If opportunity is knocking to improve career options but time seems too limited to answer the door, Rowan College at Gloucester County's new Business Administration Online degree may be the solution to a better future.

Beginning in September, ambitious students will be able to earn an associate degree online in two years. The Business Administration Online program is structured to be student friendly, offering an accelerated part-time schedule with courses taken in 7- and 5-week blocks. In a typical semester, students will earn at least 12 credits. A fraction of the cost compared to other online programs, Rowan College's online associate degree is approximately $8,400 for tuition and fees.

"Students enrolled in the online program will follow the same course requirements as students in the traditional Business Administration program," said Patricia Claghorn, dean of Business Studies. "The new Business Administration Online degree is designed to accommodate working individuals and easily transfers to other online four-year university business programs."

Students in the program will be enrolled as a cohort to encourage support and collaboration, usually taking two classes within each 7-week block. The much faster pace of the program also means that students must be able to manage their time and ask for assistance when needed. Registration, advising, tutoring and technology support are all available online. Prior to beginning any coursework, students are required to complete an online orientation program.

"This program offers the flexibility of working and going to college along with comprehensive online support services to help students be successful," said Claghorn. "The cost of the associate degree is also reasonable. Some students may even be fortunate enough to work for a company that offers tuition reimbursement to full-time employees."

Admission to the program is open to high school graduates, High School Equivalency (HSE) recipients and individuals who can benefit from the online curriculum. Registration is open to anyone in the United States, as well as international students. Applicants must be prepared for college-level coursework.
