South Jersey Biz magazine recently named Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) President Frederick Keating one of South Jersey's top 50 industry professionals. This year's Power 50 list represents successful business leaders involved in education, health care, government, nonprofit, real estate, finance and more who have worked hard to get to the top of their fields and had a far-reaching impact within the community.
Dr. Keating, a recognized academic leader with more than 30 years of experience in higher education, became the College's seventh president in February 2012 and has been recognized for his academic service and innovative leadership. Under his guidance, and in collaboration with the College's stakeholders, RCGC has seamlessly moved forward forging a premier partnership with Rowan University and affiliations with other area universities, initiating scholarship programs, expanding the campus with new construction and modernizing renovations, and establishing the Center for College and Career Readiness.
Dr. Keating currently serves on the executive committee as a member on the board of trustees at The College of New Jersey and was chair of the State's College Affordability Study Commission. He has been recognized as one of South Jersey Biz's Executives of the Year, received the NAACP Game Changer President's Award and the Garden State Council Boy Scouts of American Gloucester County Distinguished Citizen Award. Prior to his appointment as college president, he served as Gloucester County College's (now RCGC) vice president of Student Services and as interim president.
Rowan College at Gloucester County is located on a 250-acre campus on Tanyard Road, Deptford, just off Exit 56 of Route 55.
