Prospective health-care students and their families are invited to attend the Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) Nursing and Allied Health Center Open House on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. to learn more about programs in nursing, diagnostic medical sonography (ultrasound), nuclear medicine technology, exercise science, health science, certified clinical medical assistant and physical therapy assistant (PTA).
The Open House will provide guests with the opportunity to meet program instructors and current students, view ultrasound, nuclear medicine technology, nursing and medical assistant demonstrations, in addition to touring the 41,672 square-foot, state-of-the-art building. RCGC admission, financial aid and advising representatives will also be available to answer questions. The College application fee will be waived for individuals interested in registering that night.
Health-care providers across the region rely on RCGC to prepare exemplary practitioners for employment in the nursing and allied-health fields. A rise in the number of people age 65 and older, along with recent reforms offering health-care access to millions of people, have increased the demand for nurses and health-care professionals.
In May, RCGC earned five-year accreditation status to become the only PTA program in South Jersey. One of four colleges in the state to offer the PTA program, RCGC is the only institution to service all of the counties in Southern New Jersey. In addition, the College's Nursing program has been ranked the #1 Nursing program in New Jersey by RegisteredNursing.org for two consecutive years.
Partnership opportunities with four-year universities offer RCGC students even more career options. RNs can earn a Rowan University Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree right on the RCGC campus thanks to a seamless "pathway" with the College's premier partner.
