Artists at least "60 years young" participated in the 52nd annual New Jersey Senior Citizen's Art Show at Meadow Lakes, a Spring Port Community in East Windsor, N.J. The show featured artists from all 21 counties, including many Gloucester County residents. Participants were able to submit up to two original pieces of artwork which had been completed in the last three years to Rowan College at Gloucester County in order to be entered into the show.
Gloucester County winners of the state-wide competition included: first place in the Non-Professional Acrylic category, Diane Herder with "Creation;" second place in the Professional Photography category, Charlotte Ryan Photography with "Peace;" third place in the Non-Professional Digital Art category, Marie Fickenscher with "Trees;" and third place in the Professional Oil category, Dino Sistilli with "Going Home/Battleship N.J."
Gloucester County artists who received an honorable mention included: Margaret Garcia in the Professional Works on Paper category for "The Stone Barn on Oak Grove Road;" Lolly Grilli in the Professional Acrylic category for "Bouquet of Brushes," Janet Kalapos in the Non-Professional Mixed Media category for "Strength to Bloom Alone;" and Dee Pierson in the Non-Professional Works on Paper category for "Crackers."
