Since 1995 DancElectric dancers have been entertaining audiences with their fancy footwork and raising scholarship money for Gloucester County College students. On Saturday, May 3, the dance troupe will celebrate 20 performances, bringing back some of their favorite steps when they present "Connections" at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center. This year's performance will include jazz, ballet, modern, tap, lyrical, hip hop and Irish step dancing. DancElectric alumnae have been invited to participate in the finale.

Co-sponsored by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, DancElectric is a non-profit stage group that fundraises on behalf of the fine and performing arts and is comprised of volunteer wives, mothers and daughters who are all teachers, choreographers and working professionals from the surrounding community. The fundraiser was started by Corrine Gangi and her husband Raymond, a former professor at the College.

While much of the spring performance profits will go directly to the Foundation, $500 will be allocated to the Gangi Arts Scholarship and another $250 will be awarded for books and supplies. Both are presented each year to a GCC student involved in the arts. Overall, the non-profit group has raised more than $52,000 for awards.

Tickets are $18 per person in advance and $20 at the door, and can be purchased at the Corrine Gangi Dance Center in Pitman or by calling (856) 589-4840. Tickets and additional information about the GCC Foundation are also available by calling (856) 681-6202.  More information about DancElectric can be found at
