On Monday, June 2 the Department of College Relations, Communications and Marketing stated it will use Rowan College at Gloucester County as the institution's official name to appear on press releases, news articles and general correspondence.
As the campus community bids farewell to the long-standing moniker Gloucester County College, it understands confusion still exists within the South Jersey locale in how to address the College.
The premier partnership between Rowan University and Gloucester County College takes full effect on July 1. To build brand identity, the new name Rowan College at Gloucester County has surfaced on billboards, advertisements, merchandise and promotional items throughout the region. This now includes press releases, web applications and all formal literature.
However, Gloucester County College still appears in historical contexts. The College celebrated the Class of 2014 as GCC graduates, including cadets promoted from the Gloucester County Police and Fire academies. Furthermore, any accolades acquired by the Roadrunner Athletics Department for the 2013-2014 academic year will be acknowledged as GCC accomplishments.
For more information on the partnership, or July 1 changeover date, call Andrea Stanton, director of College Relations, Communications and Marketing, at 856-415-2229.
Rowan College at Gloucester County (formerly Gloucester County College) is located on a 250-acre campus on Tanyard Road, Deptford, just off Exit 56 of Route 55.
