Deptford Twp. – Rowan College at Gloucester County is hosting the 50th annual Gloucester County Juried Senior Art Show reception on Thursday, July 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the College Center’s Dr. Ross Beitzel Art Gallery. The contest allows local artists 60 years of age and older to submit up to two original pieces of artwork for consideration.
Community members are encouraged to attend the free reception and celebrate the creative talents of local senior artists. Two separate competitions will take place based on professional and non-professional ability. First place winners will receive a cash prize and their entry will be automatically entered into the annual New Jersey Senior Juried Art Show in October. The winners will compete against seniors from all 21 counties at Meadow Lakes, a Spring Port Community in East Windsor, NJ.
Winners will be named in the following categories: acrylic, oil and watercolor painting, drawing, mixed media, pastel, digital imagery, photography, printmaking, sculpture and craft—one-of-a-kind creations. The competition is free and open to all Gloucester County residents.
The show, sponsored in part by the Gloucester County Division of Senior Services and the Senior Corps and Community Service, will run until July 27.
