"For being the world's ugliest dog, Elwood made the world a more beautiful place" said owner Karen Quigley as she addressed a crowd of guests gathered in the College Center on Monday, June 30, during the Rowan College at Gloucester County Foundation's "Everyone Loves Elwood" endowment signing.

Quigley gifted more than $16,000 to the Foundation in honor of her internationally-famous and most-loved canine, Elwood, who won the "World's Ugliest Dog Contest" in 2007. Elwood passed away last November. The perpetual scholarship provides one $250 and one $500 scholarship annually and is open to all Rowan College and Adult Center for Transition students passionate about volunteering, especially at animal shelters.
