Recent Policy Updates

If the policy has a corresponding administrative procedure (AP), a link has been provided.


Approved March 28, 2017


Background for policy and procedure revision:

The policy was revised to indicate the Board designates the College President to annually appoint individuals for oversight of Affirmative Action (AA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Title IX and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

In both the policy and procedure, the old title of the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) was updated to reflect its correct title, Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008.

Background for policy revision:

The policy was updated to detail the Association's current configuration, function, and funding details and removed outdated practices. There is no associated procedure for this policy.



Background for policy revision:

The integrity of the policy remains the same the 2008 version with minor word changes. There is no associated procedure for this policy.



AP 2001 Executive Representation (Revise)

Background for administrative procedure revision:​​

This procedure outlines the College's executive representation when the President is off campus and/or unreachable as detailed in the procedure. The corresponding policy is unchanged. ​


AP 7060 Donated Leave (Revise)

Background for administrative procedure revision:

Bullet number nine was added under the section titled, Procedures. The procedure outlines make-up time under 'special circumstances' that must be validated by HR and approved by the President.  The corresponding policy is unchanged.


Approved January 24, 2017


Background for policy and procedure review/revision:

Language in the policy referring to  "endowed chairs, professorships, and fellowships" was removed under the section titled, Additional Provisions and Considerations, second bullet, as this is not applicable to the College. Revisions were made to the procedure's page three attachment, titled Recommended Financial Support Levels to adjust the level of giving under LEVEL III: OTHER ASSETS, and to remove the same wording as mentioned above in the policy .

P 7023 Faculty Rank for Administrative Personnel (Revise)​

Background for policy and procedure review/revision:

Language was added to clarify the communication and procedural chain of events for administrators seeking reassignment to a classroom position (see the section titled, Change in Assignment). Additional language was added to the policy (which mirrors the procedure) to focus the reader on the important point that all requests considered and recommended for Board action would only occur when such action upheld the best interests of the students and the College.

AP 7038 Privledges for Emeritus Status and Retirees​ (Revise)

Background for procedure review/revision:

The Board of Trustees' approved policy 7038 on Emeritus Status states that this status may be granted by resolution to those employees whose length and quality of active service have been distinguished. The procedure was adjusted to include Administrative Staff – these are staff members whose basic responsibilities lie outside of the classroom who have held a concurrent senior administrative title of Dean, Executive Director, Vice President or President.

There were no changes needed in the policy.
