Rowan College at Gloucester County

When completing the 1098-T tax form, Rowan College at Gloucester County reports qualified charges for the calendar year, not when the bill is paid.

For example, a 2013 Form 1098-T includes the following semester charges for tuition and eligible fees:

  • Winter 2013 classes registered after January 1, 2013

  • Spring 2013

  • Summer I 2013

  • Fall 2013

  • Winter 2014 classes registered before December 31, 2013

Rowan College mails all eligible 1098-T forms by January 31. The 1098-T forms MUST be mailed to the address on file.Important Note: If a student’s qualified tuition and related expenses are paid entirely with grants or scholarships, Rowan College will not report or mail a 1098-T.

It is important to remember that not all fees are qualified to be reported on Form 1098-T. For example, medical expenses, including the student health insurance fee, are exempt from Form 1098-T reporting. If students have any questions about fees that are exempt from Form 1098-T reporting, they should contact the Internal Revenue Service or a tax professional.

To view/print a copy of their 1098-T forms, students should follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Portal account.

  2. Click the Self-Serv link.

  3. Click the Student tab.

  4. Click on Student Account.

  5. Click on Electronic 1098-T Form.

If there are inaccuracies on Form 1098-T, students must alert the Business Office immediately.

Rowan College at Gloucester County cannot determine whether students qualify for a tax credit, and the College is not allowed to provide tax advice. Students should contact a tax professional about their personal income tax situations.
