Jake Caruso (Eastern Regional) turned in a solid seventh place finish with a time of 25 minutes, 44.65 seconds, and Mike Dowd (Williamstown) and James Kennedy (Williamstown) also placed among the top 25 runners to help the RCGC Men's Cross Country team grab a seventh place team finish to highlight the Don Cathcart Invitational at Salisbury University on Saturday.
Dowd placed 16th overall with a time of 26:25.64 wjile Kennedy was 25th in 26:50.60. The Roadrunners, No. 3 in the USTFCCCAA Division III National Rankings, finished seventh overall in the team race, which featured NCAA Division III competition.
In the women’s race, both Abi Warren and Ally Bone ran their personal bests over the 6k course with times of 26:53 and 30:25 respectively. Abigayle was the #1 JUCO runner in the large field of mostly NCCAA Division II and III teams.
In Women's Soccer Ashley Engler (Williamstown) scored a hat trick and Josie O'Donnell (Holy Cross) added another tally as the RCGC blanked host Brookdale Community College by a 4-0 final.
Following a scoreless first half, Engler broke open the defensive struggle by scoring two of her goals in the opening minutes of the second half for a 2-0 lead.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jenni DeVault (Kingsway) recorded her ninth shutout of the season.
The Runners improved to 11-1 overall and 6-0 within the Garden State Athletic Conference.
In Men's soccer Zach Piro (Hammonton) scored a first half goal and the Roadrunners erupted for three second-half goals to record an impressive 4-0 triumph over host Brookdale Community College on Saturday. Andrew Sooy (Millville) also scored a goal and RCGC netted a goal on a penalty kick. Goalkeeper Chris Lenahan (Schalick) posted the shutout, his fifth of the season.
In Women's Volleyball, Sarah Kadelski had 10 service aces and Rebecca Solimeo recorded 6 service aces as RCGC captured their second win of the season, a 3-0 victory over host Passaic County College Saturdday.
Coach Rebecca Brown's Roadrunners will host Ocean County College on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
