Congratualtions to RCGC's Chris Lenahan and Megan Lord on being chosen Soccer Players of the Week by the Garden State Athletic Conference for the week ending October 8. Chris was chosen as GSAC Men's Division III Goalkeeper of the Week while Megan was honored as Women's D-III Athlete of the Week.
Lenahan, a former standout at Schalick High School, led the team with three shutout wins over Brookdale, Cumberland, and Passaic. A 2016 NJCAA 2nd Team All American, Lenahan is back in form anchoring a young defense that was 3-0 last week. All wins were shutouts. He now has 7 1/2 shutouts on the season.
Thanks to outstanding play from Megan Lord (Glassboro), the Roadrunners women team picked up two more wins during regular season action as they improved to 13-2 overall. Lord continues to play well on both sides of the ball contributing 11 points last week to propel the Roadrunners to victories over GSAC opponent Cumberland, and out-of-region opponent Howard. In addition to contributing to the attack, Megan played outstanding in the center midfield role helping to limit both opponent's goal-scoring opportunities. She runs end line to end line to contribute to the attack as well as prevent goals against.
