Day 2 Results -- Roadrunners Drop Games to Suffolk, Bfrookdale

The Roadrunners dropped a seventh place game to Brookdale CC by a 14-0 score. Nicolette Gentile and Lynnsie Collins had the only two hits of the game for RCGC.

Earlier in the day, the Runners lost to Suffolk County 10-3. Nicolette Gentile, Gianna Locantore and Kim Alexander had RBIs in defeat.

Day 1 Results -- Antonini, Collins, Gentile and Liepe Lead Win Over Brookdale; Runners Fall to Herkimer in Second Game

No. 3 seeded RCGC split their two games in opening round competition on Day 1 of the NJCAA Division III National Tournament in Rochester, MN. After beating Brookdale CC by a 14-5 score in the opening game, the Roadrunners fell to No. 2 seeded Herkimer College by a 9-0 count. 

In the opener, the Roadrunners softball enjoyed a solid day offensively to easily defeat Brookdale Community College. The hitting heroes for the Runners were shortstop Angela Antonini, who collected two hits and three RBIs, and catcher Lynnsie Collins, who chipped in three hits and two RBIs. Leadoff hitter Nicolette Gentile added three hits while outfielder Jessica Liepe knocked in three runs. 

Winning pitcher Amber Krecko allowed 11 hits and struck out three in five innings of work against the No. 6-seeded Jersey Blues. The win was RCGC's third of the season over Brookdale. 

In Game 2, Herkimer starter Casey Boltersdorf limited the Runners to four hits as the Generals won by a 9-0 score. RCGC received hits from Lynnsie Collins, Gianna Locantore, Gabrielle Glocker and Danielle Corsi in the loss. 

The Runners, who now have a 23-16 record, are back in action Friday against Suffolk CC at 11 am EST.  Stay tuned for updates!
