The Department of Special Services offers support to promote academic achievement for students with documented disabilities such as learning disabled, visually impaired, hard of hearing and mobility impaired individuals.
Accommodations are provided to address the special needs of individuals with disabilities under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. Under these acts, the office advocates
a "user friendly" campus that is accessible and a "learning friendly" environment that fosters academic success.
