Rowan College at Gloucester County uses a number of ways to communicate public alerts to students and employees through its website, email, voicemail and social media. Quick and reliable communication is essential during public notifications, including school closings and in the event of a campus emergency.
In the event of a potential college closing and class cancellations due to weather or other circumstances, all students, faculty and staff will be notified through the College's Mass Communications System known as RCGC Alert via telephone message, email and text messages at the telephone numbers and email addresses on record with the College. The College's school number is 814 for day classes and activities and 2184 for evening class and activities.
In addition to RCGC Alert, notification will be posted or broadcasted using the following methods:
- College Website
- College Portal
- Social Media (e.g. College's Facebook page)
- Broadcast voice message on the College's main phone number
- Major Network and Broadcast News Stations
- Local Education TV Channel
For more information on alerts, view the RCGC Alert page.
