AAWCC Member Almarie Jones Receives Patricia C. Donohue Leadership Award
Rowan College Executive Director of Diversity and Equity Almarie Jones was one of three recipients selected to receive the 2015 Patricia C. Donohue Leadership Award at the AAWCC "Passing of the Torch Award Breakfast" on June 5 at Mercer County Community College.
The Donohue Award is presented to a woman from a community college who exemplifies the following criteria: provides service to women in the community; mentors other women; inspires others through her leadership; and successfully plans/implements initiatives for women. Dr. Donohue, president of Mercer County Community College, is president emerita of the national AAWCC.
An active member of AAWCC, Almarie sits on the Activities Committee where she helps to plan and coordinate mentor and training opportunities. She serves as the College's Title IX Office, a position which requires strong ethical principles, in addition to demonstrating respect and compassion to all individuals. A valuable resource and trusted colleague, Almarie has acted as a mentor to many employees and has donated countless volunteer hours to various causes and associations.
